Lake Area United Way to Host 4th Annual Dodgeball Tournament to Benefit Local Families

March 3 — The Times of Northwest Indiana

Lake Area United Way is hosting its 4th annual dodgeball tournament to benefit struggling working families. Teams comprised of various local corporations and unions will compete for a trophy, two concert tickets at The Venue for every member of the winning team and bragging rights. Horseshoe Casino in Hammond is the event sponsor and provides the grand prize. The tournament is from 6 to 9 p.m. April 12 at the Hammond SportsPlex. Read more ...

 


 

Lake Area United Way to Hold Second Annual Real. Strong. Girls. Lock-In

February 10 — The Times of Northwest Indiana

Real. Strong. Girls., an initiative of Lake Area United Way, will hold its second annual Lock-In on Feb. 23 at the YWCA in Gary. The Lock-In takes place from 7 p.m. Feb. 23 to 7 a.m. Feb. 24.  Attendees also have the option to leave early if they are not able to stay the entire night. Lake Area United Way holds first Real.Strong.Girls. Strong Women leadership retreat

January 10 — The Times of Northwest Indiana

MERRILLVILLE — Real.Strong.Girls., an initiative of Lake Area United Way, will hold their first Strong Women Leadership Retreat on Jan. 25 at the NIPSCO corporate office, 801 E. 85th Ave. The retreat, from noon to 6 p.m., will feature lunch, three breakout sessions, and an after-hours networking event.
