Centier Bank presented the United Way agencies in the state a $35,122 donation that included a gift from the bank.

The dollars donated by Centier associates and its corporate gift will fuel more than 100 local United Way programs that will serve more than 600,000 individuals across the state of Indiana.

“I am proud to be surrounded by so many associates who know the true meaning of giving back in their community,” said Mike Schrage, Centier Bank president and CEO. “We are community bankers who know the value that comes with supporting great organizations like the United Way.”

The programs that will benefit from the funds include providing basic need services (such as food, emergency shelter, or utility assistance), safe shelter for homeless individuals and increased quality childcare options for those in need.

"The support that our United Ways receive from our community partners, such as Centier, is truly the driving force for change in our communities," said Lisa Daugherty, executive director for the Lake Area United Way. "We cannot begin to express our gratitude for the support from the Centier associates and their leadership team, and look forward to the great things to come for the people we serve from this wonderful partnership."
