The Arc Northwest Indiana

  • Connects people needing disability services. Serves the community through employment opportunities, training, and placement of qualified workers, and long-term care options.

Boy Scouts of America, Calumet Council

  • Provides exciting opportunities for all boys first-grade through high school in a character based outdoor program.

Boys & Girls Clubs of NWI

  • Provides youth development opportunities through a platform of caring and structured activities such as education, character, and leadership development, and health and life skills for youth ages 7-17 and 18, if still in high school.

The Caring Place

  • Offers safe shelter and support services to families violence and sexual assualt victims. Promotes public awareness.

Catholic Family and Community Service

  • Offers counseling: family life programs; services to single, expectant parents; and emergency assistance.

Center for Possibilities - Cerebral Palsy of NWI

  • Serves individuals with multiple disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Autism, etc.; provides occupational, physical and speech therapy to children.

Crisis Center

  • Professional counseling, phone counseling including suicide line, referrals, emergency shelter for children and youth, senior reassurance calls, outreach to youth in crisis, youth development and deliquency prevention.

Deaf Services

  • Provides case management, sign language interpreting services, sign language classes for adults and children, advocacy, deaf awareness presentations/sensitivity trainings, and sale of listening devices.

Gary Neighborhood Services

  • Provides youth activities, senior programs, group meeting space, and case management.

Greater Hammond Community Services

  • Provides emergency assistance, energy and utility assistance, a food and clothing pantry, as well as information and referral.

Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & NWI

  • Provides programs designed to help girls develop self-potential and values.

Haven House

  • Provides residential and support services for victims of family violence and promotes public awareness.

Hobart Family YMCA

  • Provides programs for all people that promote moral, social, mental, and physical development.

Indiana Legal Services

  • Provides legal representation on non-criminal matters to low-income individuals.

International Community Alliance

  • Provides immigration and citizenship counseling, direct assistance, and intercultural opportunities to the immigrant and Latino communities.

Meals on Wheels of NWI

  • Delivers hot, well-balanced meals weekdays to homebound, elderly, ill, or disabled clients unable to prepare meals.

Mental Health America of Lake County

  • Provides home-based family support services, youth/teen self-esteem, parent education, and advocacy/referral services.

Northwest Family Services

  • Provides a NAEYC accredited child development program, five county WIC program, and an emergency food pantry.

NWI Catholic Youth Organization

  • Provides enrichment activities for youth regardless of sex, race, or creed. Activities are provided year round and consistent of athletics, band, camping, and academic programs.

Parents as Teachers of Lake County

  • Early childhood parent education and family support program for children prenatal to kindergarten entry that provides personal home visits, group meetings, health and development screening, and resource networking.

Robertson Child Development Center

  • Provides a developmentally appropriate educational program for preschool children while their parents work or attend schooll. State licensed and NAEYC accredited.

St. Jude House

  • Provides safe, emergency shelter, advocacy, and services for victims of domestic violence and rape/incest survivors. 24-hour crisis line and community education.

The Salvation Army - Lake County

  • Provides assistance with the necessities of life, such as transportation, food, shelter, and clothing.

Southlake YMCA

  • Provides social and recreational facilities and programs to serve all people; to enhance the physical, mental, and moral well-being of the community.

TradeWinds Services

  • Supports people with differing abilities by providing quality services and training designed to promote individual choice, growth, well-being, self-sufficiency, and community involvement.

United Neighborhood Organizations

  • Offers counseling, immigrration and naturalization, Indiana Legal Services, English as  Second Language classes, recreation including after-school Safe Haven, and health classes.

Urban League of Northwest Indiana

  • Provides neighborhood organization for self-improvement (mobilization of block clubs and volunteers), employment/career/training/placement, housing counsling, and guidance in academic achievement.

Woodland Child Development Center

  • Provides childcare in a learning environment (NAEYC accredited) for children aged 12 weeks through 6 years.

YMCA of the Hammond Area

  • Provides programs that promote moral, social, mental, and physical development of all people.

YWCA of Northwest Indiana

  • YWCA's purpose is the economic advancement of women and the elimination of racism. Provides services for children, youth, and families that promote academic and career achievement, financial success, physical and emotional health, positive parenting, and involvement in community activites.

  • Provides information and referral. Connects people to food and shelter resources; physical and mental health resources; employment supports; help for older people and those with disabilities; and resources for children and families. Free, confidential, and available 24/7. 

Regional Volunteer Center

  • Works to support the United Way's mission by building community impact through volunteerism.  

South Shore GRANTS Center

  • Seeks to attract outside dollars and resources to support the work of nonprofits and local governments in our community. 

Summer Enrichment for Students with Disabilities

  • Provides summer camp, recreation, field trips, and physical education for handicapped youths.
