2009-10 Campaign Chair Message

Rick__Aria.bmp

We invite you to be part of the change. United, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better today and tomorrow.

Aria & Rick Mazer, Horseshoe Casino Regional President & General Manager and Lake Area United Way's 2009-10 Campaign Co-Chairs

The potential for a good life is plentiful in Northwest Indiana, but the economic recession is putting stress on everyone.

This year,  United Way member agencies are reporting that requests for assistance are skyrocketing.
- Housing and utility assistance requests have surged 421%.
- Plea for food assistance have jumped 275%.
- Calls for emergency financial assistance are up 32%.

That's why your financial support and participation in this year's campaign is so critical. Help is needed now more than ever.

Your gift will help your family, friends, co-workers and neighors, whether they're across the backyard fence or just down the road.

We are all in this together. By caring and give all as one, we will get through these hard times. We can accomplish more than any one person or organization can ever do alone.

That's what it means to LIVE UNITED.
